Ashleigh was absent today, so we watched a movie called Changing Stages. It was very interesting and was mostly all about Shakespeare.

It included a lot about different directors and actors. I learnt a great deal about Laurence Olivier. He was deemed the greatest English speaker of the 20th century, interestingly enough, he was born on my birthday!!! May 22nd!! He was born in Surrey, England, and attended the school of Speech Training and later on his life joined the Birmingham Repertory theatre, he was said to be able to speak Shakespeare’s lines as if he were naturally speaking them. He loved the theatre, but also was involved in a movie career.

There were many other interesting things I learnt about various actors and William Shakespeare, I may use this movie as a source when completing my year 12 research investigation.
